Braaap Suspension Clinic

Roger Neth with Braaap Suspensions would like to extend an invitation to the TVTMA members to join him for an evening of suspension nerd talk in his shop and a day at Little Gem cycle park checking sag and playing with suspension clickers.  His whole goal is to show members the difference between an open chamber and closed chamber forks and how they work. He will also go over how a shock works and what the adjusters are actually doing.  For him, once he learned this it made adjusting his suspension much easier.

At Little Gem cycle park we will check sag, he will have club members team up and do this together versus him trying to do it all. He will have a couple sag tools to help facilitate this task.  From there we will check our clicker settings and then begin riding the little Moto track to see how it feels. From here we will all try soft settings and stiff settings and of course adjust rebound in the same fashion.  It was communicated last year that many learned a fair amount about adjusting their suspension by going through these exercises.

Friday March 21st we will meet at his shop.  Address is 2825 N 26th street in Boise.  Parking: there is some room in the driveway, he asks if your rig leaks oil to park on the street.  We will run out of room in the driveway, parking on 26th street is fine please don’t block the neighbors driveway.  If the attendance is super high, there is a church on hill road, this is about 2 blocks from his home.  His shop is about 950 sq feet, it may be cozy.  He will have beverages and light snacks available.

Saturday, March 22nd we will meet at Little Gem cycle Park, we will park in the first parking area right after the cattle guard.  He will be there at 9:45, sag setting will start by 10:30 and riding by 11:30.  We will document our clicker settings and get to riding.  We will ride in groups so people can watch others suspension while he points out issues.
