Council Work Weekend

Date: September 6th, 2025

Location: Shingle Flats - Council Mountain, Near Council Idaho. Directions: From Council North on US-95. Turn right onto Mill Creek Rd/NF-165 follow 5.2 miles. This is where NF-183 splits off of NF-165. Dispersed camping with vault toilet.

What to expect: Is this a trail or a cow trail? There are 6 routes that converge on the mountain. The trails on the South side of the mountain in sections are difficult to follow due to erosion, fire and cattle grazing. Lots of hand work IE, Stacking rocks, Pulaski type.  We will be working some of the *LOST* or faint trails to hopefully make them more noticeable so they are ridden more often. Trails are Bill Dart rated as some Blue to more Black Diamond.

Dinner will be provided Sept 7th.  Pizza from the local Pizza joint in town will be served!
